On November 18, 2011 the Louisiana Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society held its annual meeting at the LSU AgCenter DeWitt Livestock Center in Alexandria, LA.  Speakers informed members about the current state of biofuel research, current USACE wetland regulation and enforcement rules, and how to best plan for songbirds on bottomland hardwoods.  Also, Brian Baiamonte presented the Good Land Use award to Uni Corporation.  Mr. Sonny Kirby accepted the award on behalf of himself and his son, Ryan.  Below are a few photos from the event (Robert Ulmer, Michael Blazier, Brian Baiamonte and Sonny Kirby, Daniel Twedt, and Chris Coreil):

SWCS Louisiana Chapter thanks Jimmy Lyles for generously donating $200 to our organization. Jimmy is a past president and long-time supporter of SWCS. Such support allows us to work towards increasing membership involvement and to develop activities that meet or exceed member needs. As we plan, coordinate, and implement new activities, we continue to build on the LA SWCS achievements under Jimmy’s past leadership and on his dedication to our chapter.
